Lighting and posing matter, but they’re the easy part. What matters more is how I make you feel.
With 15 years of photographing people, I’ve learned that the best headshots come from good communication, the right guidance, a bit of banter, and a few terrible jokes. Helping you relax, giving you feedback as we go, and creating an environment where you can just be yourself.
The goal is the same whether it’s a team day or your own portrait. Confident. Approachable. Natural. That’s it.

The best headshots come from people who feel comfortable. I’ll take the time to help you settle in, have a chat, and warm up before we start shooting.
I’ll talk you through posing, expression and angles as we go. Not in a way that makes you self-conscious, just gentle direction to help you look your best.
I shoot tethered to a screen so you can see what’s working and what isn’t as we go. We adjust together, so you leave with a shot you love.
Headshot days can feel like a chore, mine don’t. Clear scheduling so nobody’s waiting around, consistent lighting and framing across the team, and a relaxed vibe that puts everyone at ease.
Same light, same framing, same retouching style across every staff member. The team page looks like a team page, not a collage of different photographers’ work.
Whether it’s one image or multiple looks, you’ll have something you’re excited to share.
No worries, that’s totally normal. I’ll take the time to help you relax and create a space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. It’s what I love doing.
It depends. Team size, the number of looks per person, and how the day’s structured all factor in. We’ll have a chat beforehand where I’ll ask the right questions to work it all out. From there we’ll build a schedule together so everyone knows when to turn up, and we’ll work through it efficiently on the day.
Within a week for individuals or small teams. Larger team shoots may take a little longer depending on the volume of edits. If you’ve got a tighter deadline, like a website launch or media release, let me know upfront and we’ll build it into the plan.
Lightly. My default is soft, flattering light, which means there’s usually not much that needs doing. Retouching is about removing distractions like a stray hair, a skin blemish or a piece of food caught in a tooth, not completely changing how you look. Though I’m happy to adjust if you’d like more or less, just let me know.
Either. I’ve got a portable studio setup with consistent lighting that travels easily, so most team days happen at your office in a meeting room or a clear corner of the workspace. For individual portraits, we can do studio, office, or on location depending on the look you’re after. The technical setup is the same. Only the background changes.
Whatever your team would normally wear to a client meeting or an important pitch. The photos should look like your actual culture, not a costume. If your firm is corporate, lean corporate. If your firm is more relaxed, lean that way. For colour, solid mid-tones tend to photograph better than busy patterns or pure white shirts. I can send wardrobe guidance ahead of any team day.
Whether it’s a team day to coordinate or a portrait you’ve been putting off, a few lines is plenty to start with. The brief, the timeline, the kind of look you’re after. I’ll come back ASAP with questions, ideas, or a quote.
